Structural composition
Power system: It is the energy source for forklift operation, mainly including power sources such as internal combustion engines and batteries, as well as coupling devices that output power externally.
Transmission system: The driving power of the wheels needs to be transmitted from the power system through this system, which can adopt various forms such as mechanical transmission, hydraulic transmission, etc. It has functions such as deceleration, torque increase, and changing the direction of power transmission.
Steering system: It can be divided into two categories: mechanical steering system and power steering system. According to different operating principles, it can be further divided into three types: mechanical steering, hydraulic power assisted power steering, and fully hydraulic power steering.
Braking system: It consists of a brake and a brake control device, generally including two independent braking devices, namely the service brake and the parking brake, used to slow down, stop, and prevent displacement of the forklift after parking.
Driving system: It can withstand the weight and other external forces of the vehicle itself and the loaded goods, supported by the wheels on the road and coordinated with the steering system to complete the vehicle's movement, and can also absorb vibrations.
Lifting system: an executing mechanism that completes loading and unloading operations through a lifting device, mainly composed of a gantry, forks, etc.
Electrical auxiliary control equipment: including electronic devices such as control instruments, used to display the working status of forklifts.
Hydraulic system: used to provide power to complete various operations such as loading and unloading, stacking, etc.

Classified by power form
Internal combustion forklift: powered by diesel, gasoline, etc., with strong power, it is divided into ordinary internal combustion forklift, heavy-duty forklift, container forklift, and side forklift. The load capacity of ordinary internal combustion forklifts is 1.2-8.0 tons, and the width of the operating channel is generally 3.5-5.0 meters; Heavy duty forklifts have a carrying capacity of 10.0-52.0 tons and are used for outdoor operations in industries such as docks and steel; Container forklifts are specifically used for container loading and unloading, mainly in port terminals or container yards; Side forklifts have a carrying capacity of 3.0-6.0 tons and can pick up goods from the side for transporting long and heavy items.
Electric forklifts: including electric balance weight passenger driving forklifts, electric passenger driving storage forklifts, electric walking storage forklifts, etc., have the advantages of environmental protection, energy saving, low noise, etc. Most of them work with batteries, and the working principle is to convert chemical energy into electrical energy.
Manual forklift: Operated by human labor, usually used in small warehouses, shops, and other places with low requirements for handling weight and distance.
Classified by structural characteristics
Balance weight forklift: The rear of the forklift is equipped with a balance weight, which has strong climbing ability and a large lifting capacity. It is widely used in industrial fields with heavy goods and is currently the most widely used type of forklift, divided into internal combustion and electric types.
Forward moving forklift: The gantry and fork move forward and backward, with a small weight and volume, which can save working space. It is commonly used for small space handling and stacking operations in industries such as light industry, tobacco, food, supermarkets, and textiles.
Side mounted forklift: The fork is installed on the side of the vehicle and is mainly used for transporting long and heavy items such as pipes, wood, steel, etc.
Plug in forklift: with extended straight legs, the fork is located between the legs, the body is short, the weight is light, the structure is simple, and the turning radius is small. It mainly operates in narrow passages.
Tray type forklift: A fork is a forklift with outward extending legs directly above it, suitable for handling and stacking goods on pallets. It has a compact appearance and flexible operation, with manual and electric options.
